Our Club Story
Early Beginings
In 2000, Valley United Christian Soccer started with the vision of Tony and Leanne Tremeer who wanted to start a Christian soccer club to play in the Evangelical Soccer Association of WA competition.
Tony, Leanne and their family moved to Perth in 1998 from Karratha and found that junior soccer was played on Sunday and this conflicted with the families desire to be all together in church on Sundays as well as wanting their children to play soccer. At this time they had two children aged 8 and 5 who both loved soccer and their family had been a part of a soccer competition in Karratha that played on Saturdays.
In 2000 Leanne heard an advertisement on Sonshine FM for the Western Australian Christian Soccer Association, which was holding a soccer competition for the first time on Saturdays so that Christian families no longer had to choose between a sport they loved and church. So they tried to enroll both children but the local club they chose only had room for their son – their daughter had to miss out. This was hard for her, as she loved soccer so much.
So in 2001 the family moved to another suburb but, as there was not a club close enough for them to join, they decided to start one themselves. Getting a small committee of Christians together … Valley was born.

Club Procedures & Feedback
At our club, we recognize that we do not always meet the expectations of our members and that there are instances where we need to address behaviours that deviate from our established guidelines and principles. Our commitment to resolving these issues is grounded in respect, love, understanding and Christian values. To facilitate this process, we have established a dedicated subcommittee led by our club chaplain, Paul Thompson, who serves as the primary point of contact for any concerns or issues. Paul is kind, compassionate and dedicated to guiding and directing feedback in a Godly manner through the appropriate channels, ensuring that matters are addressed promptly and effectively so that all parties are heard and have their concerns addressed. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
